A Minor Variation

A bit more by way of personification concepts. The stuff for Luck is pretty much derived from some freeform RP I did with narli a bit back. All the coolest ideas were hers, but I hope I'm not stealing too many of them.


Luck is one of the few aspects not subject to Fate's power. He may work with or against Fate as he chooses; Fate cannot compel him. They are the spaces between one another's power.

Like Fate, Luck is one of the most powerful aspects - and unlike Fate, Luck is not constrained by a plan. (I am, however, going to have to work out how to force Luck to behave in an appropriately arbitrary fashion. Some of what humanity ascribes to "bad luck" is actually Fate, but some of it is just plain bad luck, and that is also Luck's province.)

I have in mind that, while Fate has been the same person for thousands of years, Luck overturns pretty regularly... possibly having to do with the transient nature of luck.


With Death, meanwhile, I'm past any solid concepts and am working just with a general preliminary idea.


Compared to most other aspects, Death is a minor player, with little influence over any of the others. She is often at the call of the more powerful aspects. I picture Death as being a bit like that notion I had for vampire Seishi once upon a time - viewing her work as a merciful pursuit, releasing the living from uncertainty, suffering, and pain. Which is to say she's kind of creepy. She is probably fairly unassuming outwardly... soft-spoken and subdued, maybe even mousy. I don't anticipate her being a major figure, so she doesn't need loads of development. (Besides, everybody and their grandmother's already done personifications of Death.)

In life, she might have been a nurse, or some other kind of caretaker.
